Bought a van of Arthur Duffy it was advertised as a van like new throughout no mention that it had previously been a write-off! As a buisness that operates a Test centre I took Arthur's word that the van had no previous accident history. After I bought the car home a family member who is I panel beater took one look under the bonnet was Able to tell me that the van was previously crashed. With further investigation it turned out to be true a catagory D write off. By law it is a business duty to disclose that information to the buyer. I contacted Competition and Consumer protection commission Ireland and they advised that by law I'm entitled to a full refund If wish to get one. So i went back and asked Arthur for a refund he was very ignorant once I pulled him up on his lies about the vans state. He refused to give me a refund stating that there is nothing wrong with the van, which is true but we both no that if he advertised as a previously wrote of vehicle he would never have received the price I paid for the van. When he refused after several attempts to get him to talk I went to seek legal advice. I spoke to 3 local solicitors all who told me this man Is well known by everyone in the area that he always sells vehicles that he has bought and repaired and sells them as vehicles with no previous history and has been bought to court on several diffent occasions. Apparently he has lost cases but very little to no people received any compensation from him. Hopefully anyone looking to do buisness with him will read this review and will either stay the hell away from him or at the very least do a check on the car themselves so they know what they are buying and don't pay over the market value!
