Find us at deanemotors.ie Inspired by the 356 Speedsters of the ‘50s and ‘60s, the 986 Boxster was an instant success with the Boxster S, like this one, being its ultimate iteration. But this is no ordinary Boxster S, because this car has had the guts of €70k spent on it over the last 5 years! No stone has been left unturned in the previous owner’s quest for the perfect 986 Boxster, and a Rainforest Green S with manual gearbox is a good place to start. The exterior has been treated to a complete 996 front end conversion with a GT3 bumper, gold 996 wheels with Michelin PS4s replaced the standard items and a factory rear spoiler were fitted. The keen-eyed Boxster fan will also notice that the front brakes and exhaust aren’t standard, either. Inside, an Atiwé steering wheel sits proudly surrounded by expanses of carbon fibre trim while the standard black leather seats with red stitching and red seat belts add to the racey look. The original Becker radio is still present which is an added bonus. The brakes have been upgraded to 996 Turbo items and the suspension has been upgraded to Koni dampers all around. This is easily the best riding and handling Boxster we’ve ever driven. The engine and drivetrain didn’t escape untouched either. A brand new 3.2 engine was supplied under warranty by Porsche just 5k miles ago (100k miles on original engine), and, before it was fitted, received a host of GT3 engine upgrades such as the intake plenum, and a full Capristo exhaust system was also fitted at a cost of nearly €5k. The intoxicating sound is worth every single cent! At the same time the gearbox was also refreshed and a Wavetrac LSD was fitted. This is not just the best driving (and sounding) 986 we have driven but is simply one of the best Porsches we have driven. A beautiful looking, well built and hugely capable car that will put a huge smile on your face whether flat out on a track, or enjoying your favourite stretch of road, and available at a fraction of the overall build cost. **Viewing strictly by appointment.
