1956 Oval Beetle

RHD 1956 Deluxe Oval Beetle. The car was originally delivered to Cyprus and then imported to the UK in the mid 2000's, then coming to Ireland in 2020. Full body off resto was completed in 2014 where one floor pan was replaced along with a heater channel - the rest of the car was really solid due to it coming from a warmer climate. At the same time it was lowered by fitment of a 6 inch narrowed, shockless front beam and dropped/lengthened TransporterHaus spring plates at the rear along with some one bespoke billet alloy Protech shock absorbers. Wheels are genuine BTR wheels. The car was originally black (can be seen on interior) but has at some stage been painted Red, which has now faded to what you see now. A correct original red leatherette interior was sourced and fitted also. It has 4 original early steel wings, 3 are original to the car, the original bonnet (starting to rust on drivers side return lip) and original W deck-lid. The interior features a rare VDO 6k rpm rev counter, oil pressure warning light and red tip indicator stalk along with the period correct semi batwing steering wheel. The car has been converted to 12V with a new wiring loom, has working semaphores (with flashing bulbs) along with the rear lights that flash when indicating also, for safety's sake. Featured in Hayburner and Ultra VW magazine's. Engine wise a 1641cc engine bored out to 1915cc on stock carb has been fitted along with a 1300 gearbox. While boring out the engine it got a full rebuild with new rings and bearing. All work was done by Dave Wheatley (Bugblitz) in Ireland. This makes for a lovely reving engine which can easily keep up with modern traffic. Car has some Uber rare items such as red tip indicator stalk, factory rev gauge, original vw RHD rubber mats and genuine BTR wheels. Tons of pics of restoration and other pics for someone interested.
