1971 VW T2 Bay Window Microbus Deluxe

Meet Ziggy, our beloved 1971 VW T2 Deluxe. Ziggy was a dream come true to own and adventure in but reluctantly we have decided to pass Ziggy on to a new owner for more adventures. We have two small kids and Ziggy spends most of his time under a protective cover in the shed these days. Ziggy was imported from California by the previous owner in 2014 and has undergone renovation both internally and externally. The bus was built in Emden, Germany on the 24th of November 1970 and completed two days later on November 26th. The Original owner added two options M508 which is the additional vent opposite the sliding door and M697 continental tires. It still has its deluxe trim and interior panelling. Any rust was cut out of the original floor and new Wolfsburg West panels were welded in (have photos or works), it has BOGE shocks, the fronts seats have been restored - frames sand blasted and powdered coated and seat reupholstered. The bus has most of its original paint which has been clear coated for protection but still shows its bumps and scraps underneath. The runners on all the windows have been replaced. The floor has soundproofing fitted underneath a boat decking which is not only beautiful but also has great non slip properties. Ziggy’s interior was lovingly crafted and we opted for the L shaped couch to record some music and stories in the back which we’ve done a little of over the last few years. Ziggy has a custom built stainless steel and teak roof rack and a vintage Irish Z reg with custom California style plates.
