Description
Very nice rare 1786 pattern British Army Officers Sword.In very good original condition.This was the first British Patterned sword with aimed at regulating the design of Infantry officers swords.It bears the engraved the Royal coat of arms with the mottoes, “Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense,” (shame on him who thinks evil of it) and “Dieu et Mon Droit” (God and my right), which is the motto of the British monarch and the and panel bears ‘for my Country and King’.Only noticeable fault is the brass hilt is slightly loose but for a sword that is over 230 years old it is in remarkable condition.Very collectible.It is 74cm long.Can ship for €15 registered post.Thanks
