Rare Pair of Antique 18th/19th Century Goddess Guanyin Carvings PROVENANCE: Brought to Ireland by a returning Irish Catholic missionary, from China (possibly a Columban Father). He gifted them to a family member. The carvings have been in the same family for three successive generations. and the background of their origin has been passed down through the family members. DESCRIPTION: Hand-carved figures of Goddess Guanyin (late 18th/early 19th century), seated and robed with headpieces. Special Feature: Includes small recesses on the back; the figure with the child contains an original written prayer slip. DIMENSIONS: H 21cm | L: 11cm | D: 4.5cm.
