1920s WMF Oxidised Silver-plate Tobacco Box

Stamped with the German maker's mark (WMF), this unique, elegant and collectable tobacco box retains its period patina and character unmistakably (between 1910-1920). Height 8cm, width 13cm, and depth of 9cm. The oxidising of the silver plating gives a dark grey anthracite finish in the recessed areas on the surfaces, highlighting the Celtic knot motif wonderfully. Its got some scuffs but no damage, and is still entirely functional. Over the decades the silver plating has naturally worn down, exposing the warm yellow base beneath. Best that buyer collects in person, so you can see and feel the inherent quality of the craftsmanship.
