A 19th-century candlestick with a handle (chamberstick style), made of bronze or brass and decorated with colorful enamel. The candlestick is decorated using the cloisonné (cell enamel) or champlevé (fluted enamel) technique, which involves filling colored glass mass into areas separated by metal wires or carved directly into the casting. The wide base and distinctive handle were intended to facilitate the safe transfer of a burning candle between rooms while protecting the hand from dripping wax. It likely originates from France during the Napoleon III era (ca. 1850–1870).
