An exceptional, matching pair of English Regency period brass-inlaid dining or accent chairs, dating to c. 1815–1825. Having remarkably survived for two centuries, these chairs stand as a testament to the exquisite cabinetmaking standards of the Georgian era, combining classical Grecian influence with intricate metalwork. Design & Decorative Features: Top Tablet Rail: Deeply curved overhanging rail in rich rosewood, featuring delicate, hand-cut Boulle-style brass marquetry depicting scrolling acanthus leaves and a central fleur-de-lis, flanked by reeded roll terminals. Mid-Rail Detail: The central tablet displays an inlaid brass anthemion (honeysuckle/palmette) motif - a classic Greco-Roman emblem favored during the Regency revival - framed within fine brass stringing. Architectural Supports: The back uprights feature distinct rope-twist (spiral-turned) hand-carved sections, punctuated by square corner blocks inset with brass star-burst patera medallions.
