In working order just needs a fill of lamp oil. “This small French Pigeon oil lamp would suit a country style home or cottage or be great on a barge or boat.This style of lamp was traditionally used by 'Vintners' (French wine makers), in wine cellars where there would not have been power for lighting. These could be easily lit and then hung on hooks in the walls using the small handle. You just add any type of lamp oil to the wadding inside the base and then the wick can be lit.
