Bears its original maker’s mark label on the side (confirming authentic manufacture). Beautiful aged patina, showing honest wear from decades of service; a wonderful piece of Irish/British shop history. This style is almost certainly c.1900–1920 (Edwardian / early 20th century). Most were made by G.H. Gledhill & Sons of Halifax, the leading British maker of wooden shop tills from the 1880s onward. The diamond label matches their typical maker’s marks.
