Antique Victorian, Hampton & son’s armchair.

A beautiful and very characterful antique armchair by Hampton & Sons of London, retaining the original maker’s stamp and numbered 21387. A wonderfully decorative chair with elegant scroll arms, barley-twist supports and legs, and original-style brass and ceramic castors. The chair has been recently professionally refurbished and reupholstered in beautiful Fermoie fabric, giving it a lovely fresh appearance while retaining all the character of the original frame. Hampton & Sons were highly regarded London furniture makers and furnishers, established in the 19th century and based in Pall Mall. The chair is in very good condition for its age, with the expected minor marks and character to the timber consistent with an antique piece. A really special chair and a wonderful statement piece for a bedroom, drawing room, dressing room or sitting room.
