Antique Victorian Mahogany Sideboard

This fabulous Victorian, Chippendale style sideboard has been refinished to give it a more appealing modern look. The Old dark finishes has been stripped away, revealing some beautiful wood grain. The piece has been given a tan wash to suppress the natural red tone of the mahogany and topcoated for durability and protection. The curved serpentine style front has been inhanced with a stunning yet delicate floral and birds gold foil transfer. The piece sits on a hand carved skirt along with marvellous chippendale style ball and claw feet and a hand carved gallery rail backing The piece consists of 3 very spacious centre drawers, each featuring their original ornate lion head brass hardware, the two bottom drawers have been lined with a complementary liner and the top drawer has been adorned in a coordinating felt lining. Each side is flanked with spacious presses, each featuring complementary liners and center shelving. The right press still contains it original removable tea tray. Both presses have working locks and keys The top has stunning ye delicate carving and has also been stripped to reveal the grain, topcoated for protection. It also has its own glass top, perfect for protecting this peice if place in a heavy trafficked area of your home. This type of furniture is typically used as a sideboard, buffet, or credenza in dining rooms or entryways to provide both storage and a decorative focal point.
