Description
A set of antique, metal Art Déco pocket accessories from the 1930s, made in England. The left-hand case ("Notes"): This is a chrome-plated, guilloché pocket notebook (often used as a shopping list). It features a geometric ziggurat motif characteristic of the Art Déco era. British registration numbers for this design (e.g., UK Rd No. 799985) indicate production between 1934 and 1935. The right-hand case ("Stamps"): This is a matching pocket-sized stamp case. Inside, it typically features a gold-plated finish and a spring-loaded metal plate for holding stamp sheets or booklets. This design was registered in the UK under the number Rd 783309, corresponding to the year 1933. Both items were made of brass or steel and plated with a layer of chrome using a machine-made guilloché technique (a fine mesh/herringbone pattern). These elegant sets were extremely popular everyday accessories for gentlemen and ladies during the interwar period. Thank you for your attention. Please see my other items.
