Bakelite Telephone 1940s WORKING GPO P&T

A very old vintage Bakelite Telephone dating from the 1940s in great working order, dialling out to make calls as long as your network supports the old pulse dialling telephones. Modern exchanges on tone dialling will not always allow you to dial out but everything else works as normal. Ringing with the nostalgic bring, bring sound. Comes with original handset wire and a long modern line cable, Just plug it in! Lovely chrome dial with an old alpha numeric letters and numbers dial face. INTERESTING FACT: This telephone has a rare Ivory coloured handset which would indicate it was probably used for important work back in the day. This telephone is a collectors telephone a real gem in great as found working condition. Speaking and listening works fine, not like the modern digital phones of today but this is a great working telephone for everyday use, a real survivor from the 1940s. The same model telephone features in the classic Hitchcock “Dial M for Murder” This telephone really has it all. Original handset and line wire and a nice shine all around which could be polished more, I have left the telephone in as found condition so as not to detract from its originality. Sitting on four rubber feet so as not to spoil ones polished furniture. A great working talking piece in any room and a wonderful display item, just plug in and away you go.
