Carnival Glass iridescent glass vases by Fenton

Carnival glass vases of the "swung vase" type (a vase formed by stretching/waving a hot mass of glass), most likely produced by the renowned American manufacturer Fenton Art Glass Company. These vases were created by removing hot glass from a metal press mold and manually "waving" it on a rod. Centrifugal force elongated the body, giving each piece a unique height and an irregular, wavy edge (called a ruffled or crimped top). Their surface is covered with a distinctive, iridescent metal oxide coating, imitating the luxurious Tiffany glass. Vase on the left (green-blue): This is a classic model in amethyst or green with a strong, petrol-like iridescence. The embossing pattern on the body is most likely the classic "Diamond and Rib" (vertical ribs merging into rhombuses) or "Fine Rib" from Fenton. The vase on the right (orange-gold): This piece is in the most popular color for this type of vase, Marigold (created by spraying iron chloride onto colorless glass).
