Description
This traditional sculpture depicts the Chinese god of longevity, Shou Lao, portrayed as a sage or fisherman. The figure is characterized by a high, elongated forehead and a long beard. The large fish (carp) accompanying him symbolizes abundance and prosperity, while the small child at his feet alludes to the continuity of generations and family happiness. This type of figurative sculpture was mass-produced in China from the late Qing Dynasty (turn of the 19th/20th century). This is a very large and heavy statue. Over 1 meter tall and weighing over 5 kg. Thank you for your attention. Please see my other items. Payment via Revolut, PayPal or bank transfer.
