Description
Pair of White tulip side tables from arkana One with glass top and other without. It’s based on Eero Saarinen’s “Tulip” table for Knoll, designed in 1956. The goal was to eliminate the “ugly forest of legs” under tables. These have a metal base with a cast aluminum stem and a label underneath. - *Glass top version*: Usually the “dining” or “coffee” version. The glass sits on a rubber ring/gasket on top of the pedestal. It shows off the pedestal base and makes the table feel lighter. - *Solid top version*: More often used as a side table. The top is usually laminate over particleboard or fiberglass, painted white. 2. The bowl That’s an *amber pressed glass bowl, hexagonal shape*, likely from the 1970s. - *Pattern*: The raised design inside looks like birds and bamboo - a common Chinoiserie pattern used by makers like Indiana Glass, Westmoreland, and various UK/European makers during the amber glass boom. - *Use*: These were sold as fruit bowls, planter bowls, or centerpieces. The amber color was huge in 70s decor.
