Description
The Saorstát Éireann: Irish Free State Official Handbook is a comprehensive 1932 publication commissioned by the Irish government's Department of Industry and Commerce to showcase the cultural, historical, and economic status of the newly independent state. Like many available it does not still have the folded map of Ireland, otherwise it would be very rare indeed. Bindings are exposed at endpapers, but still holding. A few small tears on pages, but otherwise pretty good for age, General scuffing. Covering Irish literature, folk music, fauna and flora, history, trade, and architecture. Includes sepia plates from prominent Irish artists like Paul Henry, John Keating, and Harry Kernoff, alongside Celtic-designed bindings by Art O' Murnaghan.
