Cleaned gently to remove decades of surface grime while preserving their hard-earned history, they have been sealed and protected with premium Liberon Buffalo clear hard wax. The original dark oak patina has been completely retained, highlighting the stunning, highly collectible embossed geometric/fan design on the solid ply seats. This set features the iconic double-loop backrest silhouette made famous globally as the Thonet Model No. 18 (the quintessential European bistro and export chair). Rather than modern generic replicas, these are authentic, period-correct masterpieces produced by Thonet’s most prestigious contemporary rivals, Kohn-Mundus, during the golden era of European steam-bending. They feature the classic elegant inner bentwood loop and are fitted with the heavy-duty external side-support brackets characteristic of high-traffic commercial furniture of the era. Crucially, every single chair retains its original paper maker's labels on the underside ("Mundus and J. & J.
