Two unique antique beds

The one on the left is a hand-painted Louis XV bed with a distinct Rococo influence. It features numerous magnificent carvings and exceptionally convex shapes. It is approximately 100 years old. We painted it with Forrow & Ball eggshell-off white. The second bed is approximately 200 years old. It comes from the Aquitaine region, from the town of Bordeaux. The estate is located on the Garonne River. This former French aristocratic building has been converted into a hotel and restaurant, and we managed to acquire some of the furniture at auction this spring. Due to the nature of the original paintings on the wood, we undertook a conservative restoration to preserve its authentic appearance. The carvings are covered with a layer of plaster, just like 18th-century carved picture frames. Despite their impressive size, these are beds for double mattresses. I was tempted to extend the slats to fit a king size mattress, but I'll leave that decision to the lucky buyer.
