Vintage Pair Vases - the Fragonard Courting Couple A vintage pair of porcelain vases depicting the Fragonard Courting Couple or Fragonard Love Story inspired from the work of artist Jean Honore Fragonard (1732-1806). Fragonard was a French painter of the Rococo style who was popular around the time of Marie Antoinette, Louis XV and Louis XVI. Portraiture was very popular among the Rococo painters and featured aristocratic courting couples on leisurely outings.the vases are 12.5" tall by 6" wide and a 4" base. One vase has a chip on the rim of the base which is at the back of the vase (not seen from frontal view) and another chip on the top rim (see photos). Otherwise both vases in very good condition. Chinese backstamp on both vases. (B1)
