Description
Grey point fort is situated in Helens bay County Down and was used as a training base for the Royal Garrison Artillery. This sterling silver desk clock was presented by Major F.G Hill & officers of R.GA. Greypoint 23 Dec 1915 to 2 Lieutenant C.V Darnell R.G.A...The chronograph timepiece was produced by Lever of Switzerland and is purring away..The movement is clean as per photos. There sterling silver case was produced by Cornelius Desormeaux and Frank Hollings Shepherd(Bartletts passage Holborn Circus London) and was assayed in Birmingham in 1915.I would imagine the the piece was originally in a leather wallet that would open and stand. The case measures 3x3 inches minus the crown..Irish pieces of WW1 memorabilia seldom come on the market and at priced at an extortionate price point..I have priced this as a regular time piece and registered point is available for an additional five euro. Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
