Description
This vintage Hacker mains valve record player dates from the early 1970's and its sound reproduction is described by Radiomuseum as, 'astounding, ... these were known as the Rolls Royce of Record Players in their time'. It has a large 10" elliptical speaker, a powerful 7 watt valve amplifier, tone controls, and a Garrard 3 speed auto-change record deck which has been lubricated where necessary. It uses an Acos GP96/1 cartridge, and stylus (needles) are readily available. It has had extensive renovation work done to it, including changing most electrolytic capacitors, and all out of tolerance resistors. Cabinet furniture where broken has been replaced. The valves have been changed for known good ones. The knobs are not original, but match well to rest of cabinet. The end result is a record player that works well, and sounds good. It should also now be reliable for the foreseeable future. All work was carried out by myself an ex Pye electronics engineer. Any questions please just ask. My positive feedback testifies to peoples satisfaction with previous refurbishments of similar equipment. If necessary I may be able to arrange transportation to Dublin D12 for collection after Paypal payment, otherwise collection, and of course that way you can have it demonstrated.
