Killaney Angus to celebrate 75th Anniversary by hosting special sale All systems go for Friday Evening's Sale (19th September) of pedigree Red and Black Aberdeen Angus cattle to be held at Beatties Pedigree Centre, Omagh. Staged by the Killaney herd owned by John and Sandra Blackburn, the auction has been prompted by the prefix celebrating their 75th anniversary which is a significant milestone. The Blackburns have reached right into the best cow families at Killaney and are offering females from the heart of the herd including descendents of Janella of Saunders Grove who produced the much admired Lady Elizabeth line. The sale features a number of cows with calves at foot, to include Killaney Pride P005, who is accompanied with her superb red bull calf at foot Killaney Red Prince B341. This exciting young prospect was a red ticket winner at the National Show in July and was awarded Reserve Champion bull calf, beaten only by his half brother. Many of the lots catalogued sell in calf, with service sires including Windy Gowl Red Laddie W292 and Dulague Red Pablo U238. A super run of maiden heifers will also go under the hammer including Killaney Lady Elizabeth A072, who was a multi award winner in the 2024 show circuit. Guest consignor for the sale is Ian Browne, with a number of lots forward from his Clogher Valley herd. These include several daughters of the successful stock bull within the herd Drummeer Blackburn T457. The sale will take place at Beatties Pedigree Centre, 109 Glenpark Road, Omagh on Friday Evening 19th September, 7pm. The Blackburns extend a warm welcome to all to attend the sale, for those unable to attend bidding is available online via marteye. For stock purchased for export to the UK or ROI, the vendors will test following the sale.
