Selling in Elphin Livestock Mart, Wednesday October 15th Eight PBR Limousin maiden heifers. Aged 20 - 23 months. Natural animals, well cared for but not pumped. Home bred from a closed disease free herd. Not handled but all naturally quiet and easy managed. Seven of eight descended from a single foundation cow. Seven of eight carry two copies of the F94L "profit gene". Lot no. 5A carries one copy of F94L and one copy of Q204X. Bloodlines have super calving abilities. No calving interventions except with rare malpresentation. All AI bred over generations. Breeding strategy - sires chosen to get the best balance of terminal and replacement characteristics without sacrificing docility and ease of calving. These animals are the result of this strategy, quiet, shapely with the promise of calving ease and plenty of milk. Closed herd with no notifiable disease outbreak throughout the history of eradication programmes.
