1980 Elizabethan 31 Sailing Yacht Well maintained blue water Sailing yacht. Has been cruised during the current ownership in the Belfast Lough area, Portpatrick, The Clyde, The Western Isles, and the North Coast and Rathlin. Elizabethan 31 yachts are renowned for their sea keeping capabilities and are referred to as being sea kindly. Engine Volvo Penta 2002 Series Diesel Engine. The engine has been well maintained with a yearly service, including engine oil, gearbox oil, oil filter, primary and secondary fuel filters replaced, impeller, and engine anode. The fuel tank has been cleaned, and fuel lines were replaced with braided fuel lines in 2021. Brand new engine panel fitted December 2022. The panel was moved to the cockpit locker to allow full control of the engine from Helm. Life raft is a 4 man seago. It is out of service in May 2023. Engine seacock replaced 2020. All other seacocks, including the engine one, work well and have no issues. New stack pack August 2022. New DodgersAugust 2022. The dodgers include a clear panel that provides good visibility. Diesel heating installed October 2020. The heating system is ducted from stem to stern, which means all of the boat can be kept warm. The ducting used for the heating system is the high-quality silicone type, rated for blown air heating systems. There is also a heating outlet in the heads area to allow wet gear to be dried out. The rudder has had a complete refurbishment, with new 316 stainless brackets at the top middle and bottom of the rudder. This was done in February 2022. During this time, the bottom of the hull was sanded back, and the new antifouling primer and anti fouling were done. The boat has had a new coat of antifouling and anodes changed each year. A new tiller handle was manufactured and fitted in June 2021. It is of laminated construction, made from Ash and Iroko, and varished to protect it. Its brackets are made from 316 stainless steel.
