VHF (SRC) courses (Fri evening, all day Sat): SRC- Mullaghmore, Co Sligo, 17-18 Feb 2023 SRC - Dublin (Port), 07-08 April 2023 SRC - Co Clare, 28-29 April 2023 SRC (Short Range Certificate) is the course you need to legally operate a handheld radio or a fixed VHF on your leisure boat. This qualification is also necessary to obtain the MMSI code that enables digital distress transmissions from your boat. The SRC costs just €285. The course is held over one evening and a full day. Online preparation is done before the course starts. We also offer the following more advanced marine radio courses: GOC - Dublin (Port), 01-11 Mar 2023 ROC - Dublin (Port), 08-11 Mar 2023 LRC - Dublin (Port), 08-11 Mar 2023 LRC (Long Range Certificate) is the course for trans-oceanic sailors. ROC (Restricted Operator Certificate) and GOC (General Operator Certificate) are SOLAS-compliant courses for professional seafarers.
