Shamrock 22 Stalker Yanmar 230hp Diesel

A rare boat in Irish waters. Shamrock built the 22 Stalker in Florida as a serious sea boat, heavy solid GRP with a big self-draining cockpit designed for fishing and rough water rather than looking pretty in a marina. Motor Boat & Yachting tested one and came away saying they’d cross the Channel in it in worse weather than they met on the day, impressed by how stable and secure it felt and the amount of stowage aboard. Hull length 22ft 3in on an 8ft 6in beam, about 25ft overall. The bow area is a small cuddy cabin This one has the engine that transforms the boat: a Yanmar 4LH-STE, the 230hp intercooled four cylinder, approx 900 hours, on a 1.5:1 box and shaft drive. A genuine 27 knots flat out, comfortable cruising in the low twenties, and with 500 litres of diesel across two tanks, range and running costs no petrol version gets near. The recent spend tells its own story: new turbo, new exhaust mixer and exhaust hose, injection pump and injectors refurbished, charge cooler stripped and cleaned, fuel tanks cleaned, new shaft seal, P-bracket and cutlass bearing, plus a full service within the last 20 hours.
