Description
Skipper Mariner 17 for sale in need of some work No trailer or outboard motor, the boat has had a repair to the hull & needs some tidying to get back into the water. Sails are tired but she can be used as a small motorboat without the mast and sails. The Skipper Mariner 17 is a small trailer-sailer designed by Peter Milne. It evolved from the earlier Skipper 17 into a compact cabin cruiser suitable for coastal and inland sailing. It is a lightweight 17-foot fiberglass sailboat with a small cabin (4 berths) and a relatively wide beam for stability. It has twin lifting keels (bilge plates) these retractable keels allow the boat to float in very shallow water and even sit upright on the seabed when the tide goes out handy in tidal areas. Although designed primarily as a sailboat (fractional sloop rig), the Mariner 17 can be used without mast and sails as a small displacement motorboat An outboard engine can be transom-mounted The hull is stable and easily driven at low speeds With the keels partly raised, it draws very little water, making it practical for rivers, estuaries, and casual cruising under power. General specifications > Length overall: ~5.18 m (17 ft) > Beam: ~2.1–2.14 m > Draft: ~0.23–0.38 m (keels up) to ~1.2–1.37 m (keels down) > Displacement: ~318–435 kg > Ballast: ~45–113 kg > Hull material: Fiberglass (GRP) Contact me for more photos or to view Located in Portumna €800 or near offer Matt
