Antique Ebony Flute

A 6 keyed blackwood flute with tuning slide, key of F, manufactured by Max Kenner whose business operated from 1857 to 1900. All 3 sections are stamped “Max Kenner , Freiburg iB.” This flute has a mellow wooden tone and plays as designed. It has all the characteristics of 19th century German robust manufacturing. The instruments overall length is 505mm and was most likely manufactured “to order” for a band or musical group. The flute is in excellent condition considering its age of approx 140 years. . Its longevity is a testament to the quality of tone and tuning. Included new case with humidity gauge. The flute is shorter and easier to play than a standard D flute.
