While the top rail is hollow, the overall strength of the fencing is not compromised due to the close post spacing (1.2m apart). For maximum longevity and strength, we recommend that each post be set in concrete. This will ensure the fencing withstands all weather conditions and livestock contact. The flat and top rails are supplied in 5.8m lengths and are threaded through the posts in full. Rails can be joined using the connectors supplied. There is no welding required – wedges are provided to secure the bars in the post slots, ensuring a solid and rattle-free fit.
