For Sale: 1992 Volkswagen Transporter Campervan – 1.9 Diesel Selling only to help fund the down payment of a house – otherwise I’d be holding onto this classic. Originally imported from Germany, this Transporter is left-hand drive, but you sit high up so visibility is excellent and it’s very easy to drive. It runs the sought‑after 1.9 diesel engine, known to be more reliable and efficient than the 2.0L and it’s great on fuel. The van has 440,000 km with plenty of life left. Lots of mechanic history documents from Germany. Recently had oil and filter changed, with general mechanical check, with no issues noted. A new thermostat and alternator have also recently been fitted The CVRT is due at the end of August 2025. Tax is just €102 per year, and with the van officially a campervan on the logbook, it qualifies for cheap campervan insurance. The bodywork is in good condition for its age, with only small bits of surface rust – all treatable. There is a minor bang to the roof that was repaired; only noticeable on close inspection - van is fully watertight. Inside, it’s fully set up for camping. The high-top roof with skylight makes the living area bright and airy, while the captain’s chairs up front both swivel to create a spacious seating area. The rock ’n’ roll bed comfortably sleeps two, and the couch can flip to face either direction. Open the rear boot, flip the seat, and you can relax facing out the back to enjoy the views. The hi-top roof also provides extra sleeping space (enough for two kids or one adult). A 2-ring gas hob with secure cylinder storage, and there’s plenty of storage throughout. This van has everything you need for weekends away, road trips, or festivals. It’s a solid, no‑nonsense VW camper with plenty of character.
