Bought a car recently from Dave/Maynooth Used Cars. Great selection of cars in great condition. Whole experience from viewing, test driving to purchasing was made quick and easy. Recommended to anyone in the market for a used car in great condition. New NCT on purchase is great too.

I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before buying from this dealership.

I purchased my first car here for €5,250, trusting the process as a learner driver. The dealer (Dave) was very responsive and helpful before the sale, which made everything seem straightforward and reliable. However, my experience after purchasing has been extremely disappointing.

Within one month of owning the car, it began making concerning noises. I brought it to a trusted, independent local mechanic (who has worked on my family’s cars for years), and I was advised the car should not have been sold in that condition and was not road safe.

Since then, I’ve had to spend €1,050 on essential repairs within just 2-3 months of ownership. Issues included severely worn rusted cracked brake pads, completely bald tyres requiring replacement, mould in the car, and other faults that, in my experience, appear to have been present before the sale, I’ve barely been able to use the car.

I also paid extra for a warranty, It covers very little (mainly gearbox and engine), and requires going back to their garage with additional charges, None of the issues I experienced were covered.

While the car had a history of passing NCT checks, the condition I received it in raises serious concerns.

Overall, I feel there was a lack of transparency regarding the condition of the vehicle.

I would highly recommend bringing a trusted mechanic with you before purchasing from this dealership or considering other options.
