1998 Ford Transit Rimor Motorhome 6/7 berth 86000 miles Will Come with New Test This 1998 Ford Transit Rimor has been a long-term restoration project and a true labour of love. We purchased it in 2020 with the intention of bringing it back to a high standard, and over the past six years it has undergone extensive structural and cosmetic improvements while being carefully maintained throughout. The vehicle originally had damp issues, but the engine was in excellent condition, making it well worth restoring. The over-cab sleeping area was completely stripped back to bare metal, resealed inside and out, reinsulated, and rebuilt. It is now warm, dry, and comfortable. To be completely transparent, there are still some cosmetic signs of the previous damp damage behind the cab and inside a small number of cupboards. We chose not to dismantle these areas as they are purely cosmetic and do not affect the integrity or usability of the vehicle. The awning was also damaged when we purchased it but still works perfectly so we haven't repaired it either! The bathroom has been fully remodelled apart from some patching not finished on ceiling. The shower was removed to create a practical changing and storage area, providing ample space for clothing and footwear, which better suited our needs. Work and upgrades include: - Will be sold with a new test. - Full underside professionally sandblasted and protective coated at a cost of approximately €5,000, providing excellent long-term corrosion protection. - Interior and exterior repainted. - Handmade seat covers and curtains. - Diesel heater installed, providing efficient heating throughout the colder months. - Fully functioning 3-way fridge. - All gas hob burners in full working order. The Truma heating system has not been used during our ownership, as the diesel heater has met all of our heating requirements. It may require servicing before use.
