The rack is designed to fit to the tailgate of 2015 onward models in a very simple and innovative manner. The holder simply grips the edge of the tailgate in four places, making for a very sturdy fit, mounted on four rubber feet as to protect the paint.

With the ability to carry up to four adult sized bikes (max payload of 60kg), this genuine bicycle holder is the perfect accessory for when travelling with friends or family. Designed to work around you, the holder does not prohibit the opening of the tailgate, and allows the van to be used as normal when the bikes are removed from the rack.

This bike holder is made of a high quality anodised aluminium, and delivered pre-installed for a quick and easy installation.

This 'Version 1' Gen bicycle rack is not suitable for electric tailgate models. Genuine Volkswagen 1200N Upgraded Tailgate Gas Struts These tailgate struts are of course of the highest quality both internally and externally and, with a resistance rating of 1200N, are well up to the task of raising a heavy tailgate with ease. Fitting is a very straight forward procedure and no special tools are required. Supplied as a pair, these tailgate struts will completely replace your factory fit ones. However, you may want to hold on to your originals if you ever decide to remove the bicycle rack. We advise against using these struts when your bicycle rack is not fitted as the increased resistance of the struts means the tailgate opens with significant force. This results in the tailgate being much harder to close over the standard units.
