Škoda reveals seven-seat Peaq flagship, with Irish pricing due in August

Škoda has revealed the Peaq, a new seven-seat electric SUV that becomes the brand's flagship model and its largest SUV to date. Irish pricing and final specification will be confirmed in August, with the first deliveries here from January 2027.

At 4.87 metres long with a wheelbase of nearly three metres, the Peaq is Škoda's first BEV in the large SUV segment, effectively an electric counterpart to the combustion-engined Kodiaq, only bigger again. Range is rated at more than 640km.

Exterior design follows Škoda's "Modern Solid" language, with T-shaped light signatures front and rear. The Peaq introduces two firsts for the brand: a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control, and flush door handles. Drag coefficient is 0.249.

Inside, the lounge-style cabin seats up to seven. Boot space behind the third row is 299 litres, rising to up to 935 litres with the third row folded flat, plus a 37-litre front trunk. An optional Relax Package adds ventilated and massaging front seats, ergonomic legrests, a Sonos-tuned sound system and an onboard wellbeing app.

The Peaq is available with 63kWh or 91kWh batteries, the larger of which is the biggest yet fitted to a Škoda EV, across three power outputs from 150kW to 220kW, with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. It supports one-pedal driving and bidirectional charging, letting owners draw power back out of the battery to use outside the car.

Front Assist, Crossroad Assist, Turn Assist and Side Assist are fitted as standard, alongside 10 airbags including a centre airbag and rear side airbags. Optional systems include Travel Assist 3.0, described as Škoda's most advanced driver assistance system yet, plus 360° Top Area View with 3D visualisation and Intelligent Park Assist.

The cabin is built around a vertically mounted 13.6-inch touchscreen, the first of its kind in a Škoda, running on an Android-based infotainment system. A 16-speaker Sonos sound system and 25W wireless charging for two phones, with illumination and integrated magnets, are also fitted.

A Sportline version will be available from launch, with gloss black exterior trim, the only two-tone black roof option in the range, standard LED Matrix headlights and an illuminated front Light Band. Inside it gets an all-black theme, sports seats and a three-spoke steering wheel, and can be paired with any of the three powertrains.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, said the Peaq is "a new reference point for Škoda as our brand flagship" and broadens the brand's electric offering while keeping its traditional strengths of space, practicality and value. John Donegan, Škoda Ireland's Brand Director, pointed to the success of the Kodiaq in Ireland as evidence of demand for spacious seven-seaters, adding that the Peaq is "even larger than the Kodiaq" and fitted with "the largest panoramic roof ever fitted to a Škoda."

Irish prices and final specification are due in August, with Škoda advising early ordering ahead of the first deliveries here in January 2027.
