SUPER DM-i PLUG-IN HYBRID TECHNOLOGY The SEALION 5 Comfort combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and BYD Blade Battery technology. The system produces 156kW of total system power, with the electric motor delivering 145kW and 300Nm of torque. The Comfort is front-wheel drive and uses an automatic transmission, with 0–100km/h taking approximately 7.7 seconds. The Comfort's 12.96kWh Blade Battery provides up to 62km of WLTP combined pure-electric range, allowing many regular journeys to be completed using electric power. When the battery needs support, the petrol engine provides the additional flexibility to keep travelling. BYD quotes a combined WLTP range of up to 992km. That means the SEALION 5 can work particularly well for an Irish driver who commutes during the week but regularly makes longer journeys around the country.
