Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution

Some cars were built to sell. Others were built to win. The Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution very much falls into the latter — a proper homologation special developed off the back of Mitsubishi’s dominance in the Dakar Rally. Wide arches, functional aero, skid plates — nothing on it is for show. We’ve sold well over 20 of these over the past 10 years, so it’s fair to say we know them inside out — and this is a really, really good car. Imported from New Zealand, it’s spent its life in a dry climate, and that makes all the difference. The bodywork is excellent, and crucially, it avoids the underbody corrosion issues that so many of these suffer from. It’s just a clean, honest example that hasn’t had a hard life. It’s been with a long-term owner who brought it in himself, and it’s been maintained exactly as it should be. There’s documented mechanical work from its time in New Zealand, and more recently it’s had the right money spent where it counts: * Full service (07/2025) * Rear suspension refresh (10 new bushings + rear ball joints) * Front and rear bumpers professionally resprayed to bring the finish up to the standard the rest of the car deserves Under the bonnet is the 3.5L V6 MIVEC engine (280hp), paired with one of the most capable drivetrains of its era. Inside, it retains its factory Recaro interior, which presents in excellent condition — exactly what you want to see in a car like this. We’ll say it straight — there are cheaper Pajero Evolutions out there. Plenty of them. But they’re not like this. This is a proper car. Right history, right condition, right feel. The sort you can buy, enjoy, and not immediately start putting a list together for. They’re also starting to edge into proper classic territory now — meaning two-year NCT eligibility and classic tax, which only adds to the appeal. Provenance. Condition. Usability. As good as they come for someone who actually wants to own one and use it.
