The Adams name has been synonymous and traditionally associated with transport over the past 70 years. This association was started by Michael Adams (Sean Adams’ father) and his brother, Jack in the 1930’s. The Adams family ran a daily bus service from Tarbert to Limerick and had the largest postal delivery service during this time, right up until the 70’s when the structure of the postal service changed.

The Garage business also started in the 30’s, in a time when there was no electricity, when the petrol and the air for the tyres had to be pumped by hand. Sean Adams built his first garage in the 60’s for a cost of &pound;1760 and along with repairs Sean started to sell cars. It was in 1969 when he acquired the Peugeot Franchise and in 2019 we will celebrate 50 years with Peugeot making Adams of Glin the longest serving Peugeot Dealer in Ireland. It will also mark a celebration of over 75 years involved in the servicing and selling of motor vehicles making Adams of Glin one of the longest serving motor dealers in Limerick and Kerry.

In 2002 we undertook a major redevelopment of our site which involved the demolition of our old premises and the construction of a new shop, forecourt, 8 bay workshop, parts departments and an 11 car showroom. Therefore, we look forward to the future with confidence, but also realise that this could not have been possible without you, our customers, and the support that Adams of Glin has received for the last 75 plus years.
