Renault Grand Megane, Taxed 01/27, NCT Fail

2014 (141) Renault Grand Megane 1.5 dCi, Grey. Taxed to January 2027. Selling as is, NCT failed. This has been our family car for the last six years and it owes us nothing. It brought us everywhere, took every load we threw at it and never once let us down on the side of the road. We only replaced it because it was time for something newer, and I would honestly have kept it otherwise. Being straight with you: it went for NCT on 05/09/2026 and failed. I had planned to fix it and sell it with a fresh cert, but with the new car bought I don't have the time or the interest, so I'd rather price it honestly and let someone handy get the value out of it. What failed: • Nearside front ball joint worn • Nearside front anti roll bar bushes and links worn • Nearside front steering linkage, movement between components • Nearside front inner brake disc worn • Parking brake imbalance (67%, one side seizing) • Front fog lamp not securely attached (minor) All of it is normal wear on a car with this mileage, all of it nearside front plus the handbrake. Nothing structural, no engine or gearbox trouble, no warning lights on the dash at all. I have the full NCT report and it goes with the car, so you know exactly what you're taking on. It passed on the same items last year, so this is a year of wear catching up in one go. The good bits: • Brand new turbocharger fitted June 2025, around 18,000 km ago. Invoice available, I'll send it on request. • Serviced every year without fail, oil, filters and brakes done as needed. It was a local mechanic rather than a dealer so I don't have the paperwork, but put it up on a lift and you'll see for yourself how it's been looked after. • Taxed to January 2027 • Current NCT valid to 29/09/2026, retest window open to 05/10/2026 • 233,000 km, mostly motorway • Big estate boot, brilliant family car • Drives and starts as normal, I drove it to the test centre and home again €1,900.
