Toyota Avensis 1999

Selling my beloved Toyota Avensis 1.6 (1999) – 196k miles. I've owned this car for the last 20 years, buying it with around 80k miles on the clock. For most of that time it has been my daily driver, commuting to and from work without complaint. The car has been very well maintained and serviced every 10,000 km. It drives remarkably well and remains a genuinely reliable car. I originally planned to keep it for my 18-year-old son, but unfortunately there was no ‘’vibe’’ between them. The Avensis was willing, but the feeling wasn't mutual... Recent work includes a timing belt replacement at 192k miles, done purely as a precaution. Around 5 years ago the gearbox failed and was replaced with a good second-hand unit. Overall, the car is in very good condition for its age – No any oil leaks, doesn’t burn oil, no corrosion – starts like new. Small problem with lock on driver side – only works manually, small dent on the passenger side (see photo), a few age related scratches – nothing major for 27 years-old car. I would happily keep it until it qualifies for vintage status, but I'm not convinced it would enjoy spending the next 3 years parked on my driveway waiting for retirement. NCT until September.
