Toyota Corolla 1.8 Hybrid Luna Sport Hatchback

I recently bought a used Nissan Leaf from BYD Cork Central, and the experience was excellent. Stephen was incredibly helpful—he went above and beyond without ever trying to upsell me on anything I didn’t need. He explained the buying process clearly, kept me informed throughout, and the estimated delivery schedule was spot on. Highly recommend!

I recently went to view a car here (Mazda 3) on the 20th of September. I was informed that the car had no battery in it and was waiting for one, therefore I would not be able to test drive it. I found it strange that the car was in the lot with a sticker price and posted online but was undriveable, why have it out in the first place, if it needs a battery and requires work on it, have it out of sight or in the garage. Luckily, I didn’t have to travel far, so it was not a problem. I was still shown the interior of the car and I gave my personal details, mobile and email address to an employee called Stephen. He said he would ring me back on the 22nd or 23rd when the battery had arrived so I could arrange a test drive. The week went by and I heard nothing from Stephen so on Friday the 26th I rang the dealership around 1.30- 2pm. The sales desk informed me that it was in the garage and was unsure of the current situation of the car or when it would be ready. She already had my details on the system from the week before and would pass the message onto the manager, who was around that day and that he would ring me back, he never called me back. On Tuesday the 30th of September I called into BYD myself and was informed that the car was sold. I have dealt with a few dealerships over the years and this is by far the worst level of customer service I have ever seen. The way they handled the whole situation was so unprofessional. To not even have the courtesy to ring me back and inform me what the situation was and just let me know the car was sold. The person I was dealing with, Stephen , did not have the courtesy to come out of his office a few metres away from the reception desk to apologize to me when I was in the BYD building. Absolutely disgusting customer service and handling of the situation. If this is how they sell cars I would avoid at all costs. A simple phone call or being informed the car was sold is not much to ask for but to make a complete fool out of me and waste my time for over two weeks, when I was willing to spend 25k up front on a car. I would never buy a car here. The level of unprofessionalism and poor customer service is nothing short of unacceptable. I have found the same car up in the country which is slightly more expensive but I will happily pay more money to this dealership because the level of professionalism they have shown me and customer service is so much better than the BYD staff have shown me over the last two weeks.
