I received a letter about a safety recall on my cars airbag and brought my car up here to get it checked out. A few hours later I get a call saying "Yeah, your airbag is one of the unsafe ones, but we have to order in the part so it'll take a week." Seemed a bit off since presumably I'm not the only one who got hit with the recall and they mighta known they'd need parts, but whatever! The bigger issues started after I took the car home. I was told they'd been doing diagnostics on the electrics while checking the airbag, so when I got 3 warning lights on my dash the next day I rang up to check if their diagnostics might have triggered something. "Nope, not us. But as long as the lights are yellow it's totally safe to drive! Also, it'll cost you €120 for us to run a diagnostic and turn off those warnings!" Grand, I'm gonna be back next week for the airbag anyway, this is annoying but lets go! 2 days later, I can tell my car is NOT FINE! The engine is revving constantly as if it's struggling, the hill start is no longer working and it can barely make it up to 50kmph. This time I KNOW something got messed up with the electrics, and I'm reasonably suspicious given that my car was perfectly fine before i took it in for what should have been a routine check to replace a recalled airbag. So I take it in AGAIN and now they're telling me the sparkplugs are all corroded, it's unsafe to drive, it'll cost me over €800 to fix and once again they do not have the parts. I was told it'd take 2 more days to get the parts and fit them, and I should call back Friday (Hint, they don't open on Fridays!) It is now Tuesday. I took my car into this place for the airbag replacement 2 weeks ago. It has gone from totally fine to undriveable and they're still telling me they don't have parts and I need to wait until next Saturday at the earliest. Let this be a big fat warning to anyone thinking their VW is safe in Airside: Take your car ANYWHERE ELSE! Update: Got a call on Friday to say that the parts were delayed and my car would be ready Monday. It's now Monday at 3pm and I've heard nothing so I imagine it'll be delayed AGAIN. So that'll makes it 3 weeks since I brought my car in. Wonder how much longer until I finally have to hire a tow truck and get my car to someone who actually knows what they're doing?

Bought a car here is 2019 for 21k+, was told by the servies manager at the time Mark that there was a recall on the car for a part in the turbo due to it rattling. Made several complaints at the time and was promised as soon as volkswagen have a solution I would get a call. Called multiple times and was told they still havent received a solution. A few months back I phoned again as the rattling was getting worse and the new manager of services told me there was no such thing as a recall on that car and that Mark had left the business. Funny how he was always very reluctant to give anything in writing. I also purchased the service plan on the car too which I had paid for years and on the last year they told me I was no longer covered even though they had been taking the D/D from my account still. In the end they agreed it had been paid and covered it. Biggest load of scam artists there is, I would avoid at all costs. Unless you want to jump through hoops to have anything resolved.

I went to VW Joe Duffy Volkswagen (Swords) to get a diagnostic report done on my car. Before any work was carried out, I specifically asked for the spark plug connector and the window switch to be changed. I was clearly told the price would be €480. What did I end up with? A bill of €625, no diagnostic report, and instead of changing the spark plug connector, all spark plugs were replaced without my approval. I honestly do not believe my car was even properly connected to the diagnostic computer, as they told me they could not see any issue. However, my own mechanic later showed me on the computer that there was a fault with the spark plug connector. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. There was clearly a serious misunderstanding and lack of communication between the service desk and the mechanics, and I am the one who paid the price for it. To be honest, I would not recommend this garage to anyone.
