For transparency: we have just moved permanently in June from the states, and we are learning about the many hoops we need to jump through to settle here permanently. When we bought this car in November, we did not know that with our American driver’s licenses some cars would be virtually uninsurable- this is one of those cars. It has a big diesel engine, and for some reason that would make our insurance nearly 5x what a smaller car would be until we manage to get our full Irish licenses (which will take about a year 😩). Anyway, we have another car that is more affordable for now, and as much as we LOVE this Volvo, which indeed we do, it’s just not practical for us to keep it. It’s not a cheap car to insure and tax for anyone, but it is comfortable and reliable, can haul anything, a family of seven plus dogs, a trailer, a boat… And the previous owner installed this awesome bluetooth system, and clearly took meticulous care. It’s a sweet ride.
