What a wonderful week at South Dublin Auction House! We’re delighted to present another exceptional auction running from 27th–30th August, featuring the contents of the Ambassador’s Residence in Glanageary, an outstanding vinyl and music collection, the contents of a furniture store, and a fabulous selection of unique and desirable pieces. The auction opens with an impressive presentation of fine jewellery and watches, including Lot 3, a most attractive three-ring nine-carat gold wedding stack, and Lot 42, an antique 14-carat gold presentation medallion, inscribed ‘In recognition of Service as Railway Passenger Guard March 1907’, housed in its original leather-bound case. We are pleased to present a carefully curated selection of works by esteemed artists including John Bellany CBE RA, Sean McSweeney HRHA, Giusto Pilan, Constant Stan Peet, Bernard Cathelin, Norman Teeling, Hughie O’Donoghue RA, Toko Shinoda, Patrick Hickey and Maura Neligan. For music lovers, Lot 422 presents an incredible rare David Gilmour Live in Gdańsk five-vinyl limited-edition box set, complete with poster and booklet. The furniture selection includes Lot 1176, a very large low coffee table with a patinated brass top, Japanese etchings, stepped plinth base and decorative foliate engraving. A particularly unusual highlight is Lot 193, two framed photographic portraits of Emperor Showa and Empress Nagako of Japan, both hand-signed. Our Super Star Lots include Lot 679, a huge antique overmantle/freestanding mirror and Lot 851: a magnificent antique granite statue modelled as a stylised human figure.
