1920/50s Bamboo Cutlery Set

Vintage Bamboo Cutlery Set made by Mills Moore Sheffield England. This set dates from the 1920/50's or possibly earlier and is a rare example of the Bamboo Handled sets that were popular with expatriate communities that travelled to the colonies in the early twentieth century. These communities were both English and European. This 12 piece set is made from stainless steel and solid bamboo. It has been much loved, noted by the wear to the lacquer on the top of the bamboo handles. The set has a beautiful design aesthetic with elegant mimimalist streamlined shapes. The handles and stems of the implements are solid and robust unlike what passes today in bamboo handled cutlery. Stamped Mills Moore Sheffield England. Leather case 15×9inch. Postage would be €6.
