Description
A very rare copy of A Memoir of Ireland Native & Saxon .By Daniel O’Connell MP and published by James Duffy, 25 Anglesey Street Dublin in 1844. O'Connell, known as “The Liberator" was the most prominent figure for Irish nationalism and Roman Catholic emancipation in the mid-Nineteenth Century. First published in 1844, the same year O'Connell was released from a prison term. Per COPAC, this is a Good copy of the Second Edition. A rare book. Brown and black leather (?)binding, titling in gilt on the spine. 347 pages. O'Connell's Preface is dated 1st February 1843 and in a bit of historical irony, his Dedication is to the Queen of England. This is an exceptional book, and while showing signs of its significant age with some discolouration it’s a great find.
