This substantial jar stands 37 cm tall and is finely decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a dense scrolling floral ground, centred by a bold longevity (Shou 壽) character within a reserved cartouche — a classic auspicious motif widely collected in Chinese ceramics. The porcelain body is well potted with good weight and balance. The cobalt is strong and even, consistent with late 19th / early 20th century commercial kiln production. The base retains original hand-written kiln or shop marks (not a reign mark), typical for genuine period wares. Condition: excellent throughout — no chips, cracks, hairlines, or restoration. Only light, honest wear to the foot rim consistent with age. No lid, reflected in the price.
