13th-century Byzantine lead bulla (seal) used historically to authenticate official documents. Dates to the 13th century and originates from the Byzantine Empire. Made of lead, weight 16.10g. The seal depicts St. Nicholas, the Christian Bishop traditionally associated with the inspiration for Santa Claus. A printed Certificate of Authenticity from a US pawn shop is included (see photos). A genuine medieval artefact suitable for collectors of antiquities, Byzantine history or ecclesiastical items. Postage available. Serious enquiries only.
